Hello ,
In 2022, the Lord has led us to make several changes for A Transforming Word Ministries that will bless you. This week, we want to share with you one of those changes.
At our Board meeting in January, I asked each of our Board members if they would be willing to be a Guest Contributor for our Thursday Encouraging Newsletter. They all said, "Yes."
So, this week, Annie Perdue-Olson shares an inspiring story of how we all can be "Messengers for God."
Trusting God To Do The Good
I recently shared a word God had given me with a group of women. I offered up my pain, my hope, and my surrender in the story God had given me to share. I was certainly vulnerable and afterward, I felt exposed.
In hindsight, I was wishing I had found a way to share the hope but not the pain. I wasn’t remembering that God asked me to share the message. I was just remembering how it felt to be exposed.
Ever been there? You know those moments when you felt prompted to share something God gave you, then afterward you question yourself and wonder, “Was that really God?”
Two days later I received a voice message from a woman who had been at the event. She shared a heartfelt thank you that I was willing to be vulnerable because several women at her table were attending for the first time.
My vulnerability created a safe space for these women to engage in a much deeper discussion around the table and experience a genuine connection.
Confirmation From The Lord
A week after sharing my story, one of the leaders of that event told me about a retreat they had taken the week before I spoke. God had given many of the leaders a word that was confirmed in what I shared with the group.
I paused and smiled. How silly I had been to doubt what God asked me to do. This little lesson in trusting God reminded me of the verse in 1 Corinthians 15:58.
My dear brothers and sisters, remain strong in the faith. Don’t let anything move you. Always give yourselves completely to the work of the Lord. Because you belong to the Lord, you know that your work is not worthless. (NIRV)
I had let my own doubts move me. Yet, God in His faithfulness reminded me that he is the one who does the work and makes it worthwhile. I am simply a messenger.
Now that’s a job I can do. In willingness and humility, I can share the message he has given and trust Him to do the good work.
As a former student and current board member for A Transforming Word Ministries, I am thankful for the work of this ministry in helping each of us hear God and share His message in our world with confidence.
I would like to invite you to join my husband and me in supporting this ministry monthly so others can also learn to hear God’s voice and confidently share his love in their world. ~Annie Perdue-Olson
Question Of The Week
Based on what Annie shared, I asked her if she had a Question Of The Week for us and she did.
