What is the price of your ‘yes’ to God?
What is your ‘yes’ costing you emotionally, spiritually, and yes, even physically?
Are you past the excitement stage as you
have put your hand to the assignment God has given you? Are you realizing your ‘yes’ is stretching you in ways you never imagined God would stretch you, so you become more like Him? Is He stretching you to reveal more of His unconditional love through you to others?
Ephesians 1:17 in The Passion
Translation says, “I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him.”
It was not until a few years ago that my
‘yes’ to God led me on a journey to learn how to have a more intimate relationship with Father God by asking a question, and then listening for His response.
I still ask God, “What do you want
to tell me about…, or what do you want to say about…” and then I listen for His response.
My intimate conversations give me
boldness and confidence to hear His voice and speak what I hear Him say when I am ministering to someone or to a group of people.
My recent ‘yes’ to God started out as a
wonderful journey full of excitement about the impact He was going to make through me to a small group of women that met weekly.
I am so thankful for the teaching and
training of this ministry to ask one question, “God, what do you want to say?”, because this is how I started the teaching each week.
As the weeks went on, I realized my
‘yes’ to God, and simply asking the question before I began each meeting and then speaking or doing what I heard Holy Spirit tell me to do, caused separation among those in the group. Some loved God’s response, others did not.
I went to God in my quiet time
and asked Him what He wanted to tell me about this situation. Had I missed His voice, or His instructions?
He said, “Your yes was My yes to lead
the group. It may have been hard on your flesh, but no one else would have been able to do what I wanted done in that group. It was necessary. I have got you! Thank you for saying yes to lead this group. You are stronger because of your yes.
“You did not see this as you were
leading the group, but I stirred a hunger in the ladies that I want to use to change the church, change the area, and change the region. I stirred a hunger for more of Me in their lives and I am going to use you to ignite a fire.”
Before connecting with this ministry, I
would not have known I could have asked God for His perspective and instructions. I would have thought I had missed the mark.
However, He took me back to Ephesians
1:18-20, “I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your understanding, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling —that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!
"I pray that you will continually
experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you!
"This is the mighty
power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm!”
God told me again that my ‘yes’ was
necessary for His plans and purpose.
I want to encourage you today to stay
the course and fulfill your ‘yes’ to God because it is necessary. It may be uncomfortable on your flesh and your emotions right now; however, He’s got you.
Continue to stand in faith! Your ‘yes’
to God is growing you spiritually to become more like Him so you can experience His great and mighty power working through you to help others become more like Him.
As a former student of A
Transforming Word Ministries, I am thankful for the work this ministry does in helping us hear God’s voice clearly and confidently so we can be God’s hands and feet in the earth.
I invite you to support this ministry monthly so others can also learn to hear God’s voice and confidently share his love with others. ~Lucia Claborn
ENCOURAGEMENT
What an encouraging message. When God is asking you to do
something WITH Him, remember you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you no matter how it may make you feel.
God will ONLY ask you to do things you CAN do. Will you say
YES to the Cans?
