Hello ,
Do you know the difference between God's plans and your plans? You are going to find out today as Tim Winders, this week's guest contributor, reveals to you how much greater God's plans are than your plans.
The BIGGER Picture
There are so many moments in life when we think we’ve got it all figured out. We make our plans, set our goals, and envision the future we want to create.
But how often do we stop to ask, "Is this God’s plan or just my own?" Time and time again, I’ve been reminded that no matter how much I plan,
God’s picture is always bigger than mine.
One of my favorite verses, Proverbs 16:9, tells us, *“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” This verse speaks directly to the reality that while we can make all the plans we want, God is ultimately in control of the outcome.
His plan is not only
greater but intricately woven into every part of our lives in ways we can’t always see or comprehend. I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, that we often only see a tiny fragment of the whole picture.
Think about the times when you faced a challenge or setback, and it seemed like the end of the road. You might have even questioned,
"God, why is this happening?"
But then, as time passed, things became clearer. You realized that what seemed like a detour was actually God aligning things for something much greater.
Romans 8:28 reassures us of this truth: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have
been called according to his purpose.”
Notice that it says, "in all things"—not just the good times or the moments when everything is going our way. Even in the trials, setbacks, and disappointments, God is working out something beautiful for His purpose.
This has been a personal revelation for me. There have been seasons in my life
when I could only see a tiny corner of the puzzle, and I was frustrated because it didn’t make sense. But as I pressed into prayer and sought God’s presence, He began to show me that I was only looking at one piece.
It’s like looking at a single brushstroke of a masterpiece and assuming you understand the whole painting. God sees the entire
canvas—He is the Master Artist.
Jeremiah 29:11 is often quoted when discussing God’s plan for our lives, and for good reason. It says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
This verse is a powerful reminder that God's plans are
filled with purpose, hope, and a future, even when we can’t see beyond the present moment.
What does this mean for us, practically?
It means trusting in God’s timing, even when it doesn’t align with our own. It means having faith that the trials we face are part of a bigger picture—a divine narrative we are blessed
to be a part of.
And it means letting go of the need to control every aspect of our lives, and surrendering to the fact that God’s plan is always greater, always higher.
In the end, our challenge is to live by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). We may not always see the full picture, but we can trust that God does. And that is more
than enough.
So, when you find yourself wondering why things aren’t going according to your plan, remember that you’re only seeing a small part of what God is doing.
His plan is far bigger, and His purpose is far greater than we could ever imagine. Trust in Him and know that He’s working out every detail for good.
Encouragement
, no matter what you are facing right now, it's temporary. It's a tiny corner of the puzzle like Tim mentioned. But thank God, His plans are SO much
bigger than you could ever imagine.
If God would show you ALL the plans He has for you, could you handle it?
You would feel so overwhelmed. At times, He gives you glimpses of what
you are future is going to look like. If today does not look like what God's plans are for your future, trust His ways.
When you let go of YOUR plans for God's BIG Plans, you will feel a release and relief. Today, make the decision to seek the Lord for the Bigger Picture and trust Him to reveal to you one image at a time.
