I have a CONFESSION to make. Last week was the best week of 2020 for me.
Why?
It was because the Lord kept saying to me just ONE word.
Imagine if God spoke one word to you that would change your life. Wouldn't that make you want to listen to Him?
Two weeks ago, I watched the Global Leadership Summit online and was changed forever. How can I say that?
First of all, the speakers at the Summit were phenomenal.
Secondly, one of my favorite speakers was Michael Todd, a Pastor from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He shared on the "Pace of Grace". That just sounds good, doesn't it?
What blessed me so much by his message was that it helped me slow down last week where I was able to hear that ONE word from the Lord.
Maybe you've been in a hurry and have missed what God wants to tell you. You may feel overwhelmed or confused. But God wants you to STOP and listen for His still, small whisper in your heart.
So why was last week the best week of the year for me?
It's because the Lord simply said to me: WAIT.
That's it. Just wait. So I did again and again. In fact, I was looking forward to the next time the Lord would say it again. Why?
When the Lord said WAIT, He was telling me to stop what I was thinking, saying, doing and listen to Him.
Do you know what blessed me so much last week?
Not once was I in a hurry or rush. Imagine you not being in a hurry or rush.
It wasn't until yesterday that I discover the reason behind that one word. The Lord told me,
"Jeffrey, when I say the word "Wait", I want you to stop and listen because I want to show you what to do NEXT."
In other words, the Lord was telling me that He was about to reveal to me what HIS WILL is for my next step.
Do you want to know what to do next in your life?
It starts with you surrendering your ways for God's ways. His way is always the best way, true?
Do you know when you're in the place of total surrender?
It's when you stop trying to be in CONTROL. God did not create you to be in control. You were designed to follow the Lord.
The Lord showed me that what is behind the spirit of control is fear. The devil wants you to believe you HAVE TO BE IN CONTROL. Why?
He doesn't want you to Let Go. Do know what letting go really looks like for you?
When you let go of control, then you are saying to God,
"I trust in Your LOVE for me."
Say that out loud. Again and again.
You see when you choose to try to be in control, you are not giving yourself the opportunity to trust in God's love for you.
So today you can choose to be still and listen for ONE word from the Lord that will change your life.
You can also choose to let go of control. You don't want to be influenced by that fear of control, do you?
The good news is the Lord is waiting to help you right now.
Pray this prayer...
"Lord, help me to let go of being in control. I would rather trust in your love for ME. I desire to KNOW how much You love me.
"I want to live in your perfect love that casts out fear. You have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
"Thank you for helping me to surrender ALL to you so I can WAIT in your peaceful presence expecting to receive from you my next step. Amen."
Now wait on the Lord for His response. Focus on your heart. Listen for His whisper.
You can now rest in His peaceful, loving arms trusting Him with all your heart. Amen.
