Hello ,
Imagine how your life would be so much different if you could see yourself the way God does. It would change how you make decisions, who you would talk to, and what you would say to them.
Many times, we GET STUCK because we are believing what is not true. Why?
We choose to listen to lies. When we listen to lies, it shapes our perspective of life. But, if we listen to the Truth and BELIEVE it, our lives can be radically changed.
Last week, I was walking up an 80- foot tower at Yanney Park, here in Kearney, Nebraska. (Here is a photo)
The Lord said to me, "Your words go before you."
Wow! That changed the way I talked about climbing this tower. I would tell people that I didn't like heights or I was afraid of heights. Can you relate?
So, this is what I said over and over again as I walked confidently up the tower:
"I like heights. I love heights. I am not afraid of heights."
Guess what happened? My words went before me. For the first time, I walked up those stairs without fear.
My words changed the image I had on the inside of me. Previously, I had a fearful image of heights, but not anymore. Praise God!
There may be things God has already told you to do, but you still have not done it YET. Why? Are you afraid of failing?
If Christ is in you, then you cannot be afraid IN Christ. He is not afraid. He is not fearful, but fear-free and so are you in Christ. This is the TRUTH.
When you believe this ONE truth, you can be completely set free from fears. Is that what you want?
Two minutes before I walked up that tower last week, I changed what I said and it changed the image on the inside of me. It did not take that long to change my belief nor how I saw myself and you can do the same.
If you really want to know the Truth, it's the devil who is afraid of you doing what God has told you to do.
Maybe you are still having a challenge with this revelation. Let's say you are afraid of talking with people.
What if the opposite is true?
Ponder that for a moment. What if the opposite is true? Let's say it is, OK? That means you like people, love people, and you are not afraid of people.
Is it really that simple? Why not?
You no longer want to be STUCK and TRAPPED by the lies of fear, do you?
Then I encourage you to start changing the way you see yourself and what you say about yourself. Again, it only took me a few minutes for my words to go before me when I climbed that tower fear-free.
After I spoke those words I had to take 130 steps of faith to get to the top of the tower. I even went to hold onto the railing and looked down.
Today, I am going to offer you a FEAR-BREAKING CHALLENGE.
Choose one fear and say, "What if the opposite is true?" Next, say out loud that you like, love, and are not afraid of whatever the lie you've been believing.
Finally, SEE yourself the way God does and be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. Take those first fear-free steps and break that fear once and for all.
And remember, perfect love casts out fear.
